Waikerie Gliding Club

Coming Events at Waikerie

What happens on each of these days is explained below.

The TI before each date tells you whether we have flightcrew for the day - T tugpilot, I instructor. If we have both then we can all fly, but if there's only a T you need to be an independent operator to fly. The crew situation changes often, so please check back before the weekend.

(TBC) means "To be confirmed". These dates may be changed in the future.

Members' Flying Days
On the Saturday following the Committee Meeting, Members' Flying Days are held. On these days, a few jobs are undertaken around the Club early in the day. Briefing and a presentation and discussion on a particular topic are planned, before a short task is set (weather permitting).

After flying, which is planned to finish at a reasonable time, a formal review of the flights are made (over a beer or two) and a prepared meal is available. This allows those members who need to travel to still get home at a reasonable hour.

Rostered Flying Days
On these days, an Instructor and Tug Pilot are rostered. Members are encouraged to fly on these days. The roster can be seen at www.waikerieglidingclub.com.au/roster Additional days can be arranged should the demand exist.

Working Bees
Once the good flying weather is over, it is planned to arrange a few working bees to complete some important jobs around the Club. Keep an eye on the Calendar and come and help.

Special Events
Some special events will be staged at the Club during the year, which are likely to be of interest to members. The first of these is a vintage aircraft fly-in. Again, keep an eye on the Calendar for these days.

If you hear of or know of any group looking for a venue to visit, the Club is able to assist.
